Physical and Chemical Properties

Colorless transparent liquid, freezing point -50℃, relative density (25℃) approximately 1.101, vapor pressure 53Pa/98℃, viscosity approximately 6 mPa.s, flash point 150℃, refractive index (20℃) 1.485.

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.’s m-HXDI product is branded as TaKenate 600, with a color (APHA) below 20, purity above 99.5%, hydrolyzable chlorine below 0.1%, and NCO content of 43.3%.

Characteristics and Uses

HXDI is an alicyclic diisocyanate developed to further improve the yellowing resistance of XDI-type polyurethanes. Polyurethanes made with HXDI as the diisocyanate raw material do not yellow and have high toughness. It can be used in the manufacture of various light-resistant polyurethane coatings, elastomers, and adhesives.
