| Physicochemical Properties: | Dimethylcyclohexylamine is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, soluble in alcohols and ethers, but insoluble in water. Dimethylcyclohexylamine is a strongly alkaline tertiary amine compound. Its color may darken with prolonged storage, but this does not affect its chemical activity. |
Characteristics and Uses:
The main use of dimethylcyclohexylamine is as a catalyst for rigid polyurethane foam plastics, and it has a wide range of applications. In addition, it can be used as a stabilizer for fuel oil, mainly to prevent sludge formation, and is a stabilizing additive for petroleum distillates at 150-480℃; it is also used as a raw material for pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and as a bactericide, disinfectant, leveling agent, and antistatic agent.
Dimethylcyclohexylamine is a low-viscosity, moderately active amine catalyst used in rigid polyurethane foams for refrigerators, panels, spraying, and in-situ pouring. This catalyst has a catalytic effect on both gelation and foaming, providing a relatively balanced catalytic performance for the foaming and gelation reactions of rigid foam. It has a stronger catalytic effect on the reaction of water with isocyanate (foaming reaction), and also has a moderate catalytic effect on the reaction of polyol with isocyanate. It is a strong initial catalyst for the foaming reaction. In addition to rigid foams, it can also be used as an auxiliary catalyst for molded flexible foams and semi-rigid foams.
Dimethylcyclohexylamine can be used as a standalone catalyst, but it is generally used in combination with other catalysts. Depending on the reaction rate and foam properties, the amount of dimethylcyclohexylamine used per 100 parts of polyether polyol ranges from 0.5 to 3.5 parts.
Storage:
It is recommended to store dimethylcyclohexylamine in a dry and cool area with adequate ventilation. Please close the container lid tightly as soon as possible after opening the original packaging to prevent moisture and other substances from entering and affecting product performance.
