Characteristics and Uses

NDI is a high-melting-point aromatic diisocyanate with a rigid aromatic naphthalene ring structure, used in the manufacture of highly elastic and high-hardness polyurethane elastomers. Due to its high melting point, the method for manufacturing polyurethane elastomers is relatively special. Its prepolymer cannot be stored stably.

Cast elastomers made with NDI have excellent dynamic characteristics and wear resistance, with low damping, high resilience, and low internal heat generation, making them suitable for high dynamic load and heat-resistant applications. Molded products made with NDI have high tear strength, low wear, low compression set, and excellent resilience. Microporous NDI-based polyurethane elastomer products exhibit low internal heat generation, low permanent deformation, and maintain good rigidity under dynamic loads. This special microporous polyurethane material is mainly used in automotive shock absorption and cushioning components.
