Hydroxyl-Terminated Epoxidized Polybutadiene Resin

Epoxidized hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene resin is a polybutadiene oligomer containing epoxy groups and terminal hydroxyl groups. It is a derivative of HTPB, obtained by epoxidizing some of the double bonds on the polybutadiene main chain. Its CAS number is 129288-65-9, and its structural formula is as follows:

Hydroxyl-terminated epoxidized polybutadiene resin has good compatibility with bisphenol A epoxy resins and cycloaliphatic epoxy resins. It can be used not only in isocyanate curing systems, resulting in polyurethanes with flexibility and water resistance, but also for modifying epoxy resins, cured with Lewis acids or anhydrides, to impart impact resistance and flexibility to the epoxy resin. It is not suitable to cure this product with amine curing agents.
